The Piedmontese cattle breed is quite unique. It is called "The Myostatin Breed" because of its unique naturally mutated myostatin gene. This results in "double muscling", the meat is extremely tender (genetically the tenderest of all breeds), its also very healthy. It is the lowest of all breeds for Cholesterol - and the hightest for Essential fatty acids - Omega 3s and 6s.

Because of its double muscling, Piedmontese and Piedmontese crossed animals have the highest meat yield of any breed - with up to 14% more meat on the carcass. Most of this extra meat is also in the better cuts!

If you are a commercial cattle, dairy farmer, a breeder, or a lifestyle farmer we strongly suggest you have a good look at the Piedmontese breed.
